We Create Authentic Spaces and Empower Cities to Reduce Inequalities through Research and Design
Our Values
Urban inequality is a pervasive issue affecting cities globally, manifesting in various forms, such as inadequate access to basic services, spatial segregation, and economic disparities. According to the World Cities Report, global challenges, such as climate change, rising inequality, and public health concerns, are interconnected with the process of urbanisation. These global issues, combined with the lack of equitable infrastructure and services, pose a significant barrier to achieving sustainable and inclusive urban futures.
At AZHJ, we believe in the transformative power of urbanism, design, and evidence-based high-impact research to address these complex challenges. Our approach integrates innovative policy solutions with sociological research to create equitable and thriving urban environments. By promoting slow, intentional change, we work collaboratively with local governments and communities to develop tailored strategies that enhance connectivity, improve public spaces, and ensure that all urban residents have access to opportunities and resources for a better quality of life.
Make Better Decisions through Evidence & Advisory
-
By leveraging our comprehensive research and analysis services, clients gain access to robust, data-driven insights across multiple dimensions of urbanism, such as demographic trends, spatial justice, and urban ecology. This enables governments, NGOs, and planners to make informed decisions and develop effective policies that address urban challenges with precision and foresight.
Aquire Context-Spesific & Customised Design Solutions

Our consulting services deliver innovative design solutions tailored to the unique needs of both local and international clients. We provide designs that integrate socio-cultural authenticity and cutting-edge affordable technologies. This customised approach ensures our clients receive context-specific design solutions that enhance their well-being, promote sustainable growth, and strengthen urban resilience.
Become Empowered through Capacity Building

Through our mentoring, training, and collaborative projects, we empower individuals and organisations with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle urban inequalities. Our training programs in urbanism and research foster the next generation of urban leaders, while our collaborative projects facilitate innovative, interdisciplinary solutions that transform urban spaces for the better.
